“Bettye Fine set me up”?

Long-time readers of this blog (all two of you) know that I have taken a special interest in Jefferson County, Alabama.  It is the topic of one of my own favorite posts.

One of the men responsible — a corrupt official named Larry Langford,  now mayor of Birmingham — has been arrested by the FBI, presumably for taking bribes from his buddy William Blount, who has also been indicted.

As far as I know, Jefferson County remains on the verge of bankruptcy.

It will be nice to see a little justice here, even if the real criminals at the investment banks never lose their bonuses, much less their freedom.
