“Liquidity trap watch”

I’m thinking I should maybe figure out what Paul Krugman is talking about today.

Especially since the yield on the 13-week T-bill was 0.728% at the time of Krugman’s writing — i.e., this morning — and is at 0.58% right now.

Who the heck is making 3-month loans at 0.58% interest? Somebody very dissatisfied with other options, I suppose.

Update

Apparently, this is the lowest yield since 1958. In case you were wondering.

The Fed can’t be happy about this.

    You actually read anything written by Krugman? Given how hard it is to tell crap from fact with him, this makes me question you Nemo. Tell me its not true….. :-)
